3D holographic XXL installation at Aula Medica

The Client
Karolinska Institutet is one of the world´s leading medical universities. Their mission is to contribute to the improvement of human health through research and education. The university was founded by King Karl XIII in 1810 as an "academy for the training of skilled army surgeons". Today, Karolinska Institutet is a modern medical university and one of the foremost in the world.
Since 1901, the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet has selected the Nobel laureates in Physiology or Medicine.

Aula Medica is the name of Karolinska Institutet's new lecture hall complex which has just been opened. With its 1,000-seat auditorium, Aula Medica, enables the university to arrange major public events, such as the Nobel lectures, which attract audiences from around the world.

The Brief
Karolinska Institutet wanted a high tech display for modern visual communication in Aula Medica's foyer. The goal was also to find a solution that would match the building's impressive facade construction, clearly visible in the foyer, and that would in itself be a piece of art to look at.

Our Solution
As the foyer of Aula Medica is a huge, open space, Stereoscape recommended a large holographic 3D display, guaranteed to grab attention and make a big enough impact. We delivered a four-sided XXL holographic display, which is ideal for installation at free floor space. The audience can freely move around the display and enjoy the fascinating holographic images in 360 degrees. Also, the display is made of high quality materials, has a sophisticated premium look and creates a high tech impression.

It is also possible to place a physical object inside the display chamber to produce exciting mixed reality experiences with free-floating 3D holographic content. Audio effects are possible, and interactive features can later be added in the solution.

The Result
The result was a state-of-the-art tool for visual communication in a beautiful piece of design that attracts people, creates stunning 3D effects and has a positive impact on the valuable brand of Karolinska Institutet.
