Sweet People was a French-Belgian easy-listening group, founded by composer and producer Claude "J. Sweet" Dhotel. They were primarily active in the late 1970s and early 1980s and became known for their soft, melodic, almost dreamy instrumental style.
Their big hit: "And the Birds Were Singing" (original French title: "Et les oiseaux chantaient"). An instrumental featuring birdsong and a nostalgic, pastoral atmosphere.
