I am a pilot and photographer who love planes and airports. I did my first "Plane Spotting" a year ago when I borrowed a Canon R5 from Canon Professional Service (CPS) and, no being aware of any LIONS I could shoot with my EF 100-400 f/4.5-6.3 L in Ohio, took the R5 to CVG to see what I could do.
I subsequently purchased a Canon R7 for its great autofocus and additional reach. This year, I borrowed a Canon RF 100-500 from CPS and took it for a spin at CVG. The autofocus integration with the R7 is amazing! The sharpness and reach make me want to take it to Kenya. I did get to test it on some big Boeing game! A United 737 Max 9, a British Airways 787, a DHL 777 and a Kallita Air 747.
