A historic atmospheric river event is bringing very heavy snow and very strong winds to portions of northern California tonight. In Weed, California whiteout conditions can be seen, leading to near zero visibility and blizzard conditions. This has shutdown interstate 5 through the area, leaving thousands stranded. Up to 2 feet of snow is expected by Wednesday afternoon.
