Luckily then, much of his work has been worthy of a man of his talents as he’s notable for appearing in timeless classics like The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, and To Kill a Mockingbird just to name a few. And his appearances in these movies have not just blended into the scenery. No, he’s often stolen the show in the time he has, proving just how good he is.

Needless to say then, over the course of his career, Robert Duvall has won many awards for his work, with him having an Academy Award, a BAFTA, two Primetime Emmys, and four Golden Globes to his name. But then anyone who’s been a fan of his for any length of time will know this is all too deserved as he really is someone of rare talent, able to stand up against the likes of Al Pacino and Marlon Brando and more than hold his own in the process.

Still not convinced of Robert Duvall’s greatness? How about the fact he’s also given us fantastic performances in True Grit, M*A*S*H, THX 1138, Network, and Tender Mercies, with the latter being the movie he won his Academy Award for.
