Predictive Analytics: Advances and Applications of Machine Learning in Global Health Programming

Описание: Palladium held a data science webinar, on 9 June 2021, on advances and applications of machine learning in global health programming. The webinar showcased three applications of predictive analytics in Palladium-led projects: (1) predicting client HIV test outcomes using data from Kenya’s national data warehouse; (2) anomaly detection as a tool to accelerate data review; and (3) an impact analysis of malarial spraying in Kenya—projects implemented with support from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), funded through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative in Kenya, funded through USAID, respectively. Today, with greater volumes of data, algorithms optimized to leverage large and complex datasets, and recently unimaginable access to computing power, the potential of predictive analytics is becoming reality.
