Official Correspondence with the Prime Minister (2021): Following the Central Government’s initial 2021 announcement regarding 100% disinvestment in RINL, Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote a detailed letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He requested a reconsideration of the decision and suggested structural alternatives to bring the plant back to profitability.
Recent Steel Plant Visit (June 2026): On June 10, 2026, Jagan scheduled a visit to the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant following a tragic industrial accident at the facility. During his interactions, he reinforced his pledge to stand by the employees, using the opportunity to demand better relief packages and reiterate his absolute resistance to privatisation.
