Stepping into the alley for its second drop, Back Door Records welcomes brothers Nemec and Abluecatt with a heavyweight three-tracker built straight from the gut. From the Colombian mountains to the warm breeze of Mediterranean Spain, the duo connect on opener “State Flip”—a tight, funky roller driven by a playful vocal hook that locks straight into body movement.
“Sunny Dreams” follows with just the right touch of breakbeat to light up any open-air system. Early-evening energy, dusty drums, and a smooth housy sax line that lands like the perfect finishing touch.
Closing the EP, title track “Gradient” injects a splash of acid into a relentless groove, paving the way for a hypnotic 303 bassline. It’s the brothers at their most honest—modern house music with soul, sweat, and plenty of attitude.
