galadriel & sauron (au) | love song requiem

Описание: Please read some of my comments on the au story (you can read that after the video too I guess?)

I always prefer to leave my scenes open to interpretation but I just wanted to point out a few places:

the rain scene – it’s either Sauron just dreaming of returning to Galadriel as Halbrand and her accepting him, or actually making a real spell on that rain there so that for those few moments Galadriel does not remember that Halbrand is Sauron and is happy to see him (but she does remember it afterwards)

the scenes from 2:57 are related to the concept of Dagor Dagorath aka Battle of All Battles (Tolkien’s dropped idea of a sort of end of the world final battle that brings Morgoth’s final downfall. Beloved concept for many of us haladriels – where Sauron this time decides to fight against Morgoth, choosing finally the path of good). Here Galadriel sees visions of both Dagor Dagorath and her being together with Sauron/Halbrand. When he opens his eyes so suddenly, it’s his re-awakening to the upcoming end of the world battle. Her looking up there in red is where she is all alone and afraid – knowing that the battle is coming.

The last shots – after Galadriel sees those visions when lying down – I prefer to leave to interpretation but to me it’s Sauron also perceiving this vision - maybe due to their mind connection - quite disbelieving that something like that can happen to him, a final reunion with her after all, Morgoth’s ultimate defeat and his redemption, his eyes finally seeing the light and peace that he had been looking for.
