A short anthem for all times of the year for a solo tenor and SATB chorus.
Tenor: 'The angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the lamb. Through the middle of the street of the city. On either side of the river is the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit producing its fruits each month; and the leaves of the trees are for the healing of the nations.
A time to seek and a time to lose; a time to keep and a time to throw away.
I am the alpha, omega, the first and last, the beginning and the end.
The one who testifies to these things say, surely I am coming soon.
A time to keep silence and a time to love and a time for peace.'
Choir and chorus: 'A time to be born, we die. A time to kill, a time to heal, a time to weep, a time to laugh; a time to mourn, a time to dance, a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to throw away; born, die and heal, weep, laugh, mourn dance;
Amen come Lord Jesus come! And time to speak; time to love, a time to hate, a time for war; for peace, such peace Amen.'
