I found it surprising that there were no simple straight forward videos showing a person how to assemble a Stanley hand plane. I decided to share this one of a plane that I just restored or "resurrected" in the theme of Halloween, and Hallowood15.
If you want to know how to sharpen and setup a Bailey plane, then look no further than a master of woodworking Paul Sellers' Youtube Channel ( / paulsellerswoodwork . I sharpen and setup my planes exactly the way he does it. Anything else is a waste of your time.
The model is a Stanley 4C around mid-20th century. The Stanley Bailey models are popular among would be woodworkers and artists, because they economical for a person on a budget but they are also well made. The "antiques" rival that of any current plane maker, some may argue the current "top-of-the-line" planes are worse then the worst of the old Bailey model.
