So today I'm in the beautiful city of Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance. And I'm going to be talking about religion and the Renaissance. So, Renaissance birthplace was here in Florence and often the Renaissance is seen as the sort of break from the dark Middle Ages when everything was under the influence of the Catholic Church. The Renaissance was going into modernity, but the Renaissance and religion were still very much intertwined. So today I'm going to be talking about religion. And the Renaissance here in Florence.
This will be the first video in a mini series that will be covering the Medici's rule in Florence.
