This is our go-to for early mornings, long drives, and charging stops. It travels well, keeps you full, and you get to control your ingredients. Kitchen activism on the road.
Ingredients (1 large serving)
• Organic Rolled oats — ½ cup
• Chia seeds — 2 tablespoons
• Sea salt — ½ teaspoon
• Organic Cinnamon — 1½ teaspoons
• Organic Hemp seeds — 2 tablespoons
• Organic Unsweetened coconut flakes — ⅓ cup
• Organic Frozen wild blueberries — ¾ cup
• Organic Milk of choice — about 1/2 cup + 3/4 cups total: 1 1/4 cups
• Farmers’ Market Honey — about 1 tablespoon, or to taste
How we make it
1. In a jar or container, combine oats, salt and chia seeds
2. Add 1/2 cup of milk, stirring well so the chia doesn’t clump.
3. Let sit for 3 minutes, stir again, then fold in the rest of the ingredients.
4. Cover and refrigerate overnight (or at least 4 hours).
Notes from the road
• Frozen fruit keeps everything cold longer in the cooler.
• Any nuts or seeds work. Use what you have.
• This is forgiving. Adjust thickness, sweetness, and spices to taste.
