There is a healthy kind of fear. Biblically, fear of the Lord means we have a reverential awe of Almighty God.
Healthy fear makes us look both ways before we cross the street, keeps us from putting forks in an electrical outlet, and reminds us to put on our seat belt before we drive in our cars.
Phobia is an irrational fear. many of us live with an irrational fear of God, but as we spend time getting to know Him as revealed in Scripture, we learn a healthy reverential respect that helps us live in right relationship to our Heavenly Father.
