Jason Sidwell - You Talkin' To Me? (4K)

Описание: Written and performed by Jason Sidwell with Oli Rew on electric piano and Andy Davis on drums. I haven't recorded much blues groove guitar this year so figured it was time to do so! This piece started off as a rhythmic exploration with a dominant 7th chord while drawing on Minor Pentatonic, Blues scale and Lydian Dominant melodic ideas. I then added several other sections with more chord changes (the joys of extensions and substitutions!) until it was fully structured. The arrangement is for four main instruments (guitar/bass/keys/drums) with two further guitars (clean on the left and rotary on the right) to enhance rhythmic interplay in the busier chord sections. The video and story came after the music, making a change of presentation from my previous youtube pieces. Many thanks to Oli Rew who is a fantastic musician/MD and my outstanding partner in rhythm, Andy Davis. Both proved a lot of fun to work with and brimming with musical ideas!
