Masonry walls are sometimes reinforced and grouted (partially or fully) to add stiffness, resistance to bending forces, and increased shear strength.
Whereas grout placement is regulated by the masonry code, the process may be done a few different ways. Low lift grouting is the process of grouting the wall as the masonry goes up. High lift grouting involved placing grout in taller sections of walls. Each method has its benefits and restrictions.
Union bricklayers are trained for both methods of grouting and are capable of placing grout to meet project and building code requirements.
