This video walks you through a high level summary of what drafting a wedding layout is like, who needs it, why it's important, and what to consider.
The tools I use when a floorplan is not readily available by the venue are the following:
1. A Measuring Wheel (such as here: https://www.amazon.com/Komelon-ML1810...)
2. A tape measure
3. A camera! Take alot of pictures! And video if you can.
4. Pen and paper for notes, details, and if you need to draw a grid over your layout
As always, when make sure to consult a professional when finalizing your layout. Each event entails its own special circumstances, so not every event is alike.
