The full walk (10.3 Kms) around Burnaby Lake in Burnaby, near Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This hike starts at the Avalon Avenue parking lot, then walks along the Freeway Trail, crossing the Cariboo Dam, passing by multiple picnic areas, and crossing Eagle Creek and Piper Avenue.
We then visit the wildlife sanctuary and bird viewing tower, where we see ducks, herons, Long-billed Dowitchers, Canada geese, yellow-headed blackbirds, Wood Ducks, Green-winged Teals, American Coots, Green herons, American Wigeon, and more bird watching opportunities.
We then continue walking along the railway tracks, then reach Phillips Point where we get some drone footage of Burnaby Lake with Brentwood in the background. From there, we go along the Cottonwood trail, cross the west Bridge of Burnaby Lake, along Thomas street, then onto the South side trail and Roberts St.
This takes us to Southshore trail, across Ramsay Creek, onto the Freeway trail, then back where we started on Avalon Ave.
