Minimalism is the primary reason we have been able to leave our full-time jobs to work as little as we want on projects we choose. It has been the ultimate liberator! It's taught us to be happier with less, while also preserving this marvelous planet.
For us, #minimalism has opened our eyes to how consumerist societies control people by convincing them that they will always need more THINGS to be happy. It wasn't until we got rid of everything that we realized we were better off with less. People tend to fill the spaces they have with more and more things. Vanlife was a huge step in our minimalism journey because it required us to get rid of anything that could not fit in the van.
Building a #tinyhouse has been a natural transition from vanlife because we don't have all the things people worry about fitting in their homes. We knew we wanted to try #naturalbuilding. As inexperienced #diy home builders, we chose to build a #cobhouse because it felt more like art than construction.
Minimalism has enabled us to spend less money while living more. We have more free time and less stress and anxiety.
