The HP 50g is actually capable of printing wirelessly using its infrared port and the HP 82240B infrared printer (or even the older HP 82240A printer, with some tweaks).
The commands for printing are only documented in the Advanced User's Reference, but you need to know their names beforehand and look them up in the full command index, as there is no chapter on printing. This is at least weird, because the HP 50G actually has the capability of printing!
The following is the list of available commands for printing in the HP 50G:
Basic commands (Menu 107):
PR1 - Prints the first element of the stack.
PRVAR - Prints the contents of a variable.
PRST - Prints the full stack.
PRSTC - Like PRST, but each element uses only one line, right justified.
PRLCD - Prints the exact contents of the calculator's screen.
CR - Paper advance command. Identical to pressing the physical button on the printer.
Advanced commands (Menu 107, option PRTPAR):
DELAY - Sets the delay (in seconds) between each "line" of information that will be sent to the printer.
OLDPRT - Configures the calculator to use the old HP 82240A Infrared Printer (modifies the reserved variable PRTPAR)
RESET - Resets the printer's configuration.
INFO - Shows a summary of the reserved variable PRTPAR contents.
Reserved variable PRTPAR:
In contains a list of four elements:
{delay_time remap line_length line_termination}
delay_time: A real number, in the range 0 to 6.9, specifying the number of seconds the calculator waits between sending lines. This should be at least as long as the time required to print the longest line. If the delay is too short for the printer, you will lose data. The delay setting also affects serial printing if transmit-pacing (in IOPAR) is not being used.
Default: 0
remap: A string defining the current remapping of the extended character set for printing. The string can contain as many characters as you want to remap, with the first character being the new character 128, the second being the new character 129, etc. (Any character number that exceeds the string length will not be remapped.)
Default: Empty string.
line_length: A real number specifying the number of characters in a line for serial printing. This does not affect infrared printing.
Default: 80
line_termination: A string specifying the line-termination method for serial printing. This does not affect infrared printing. Note that control character 13 is the carriage return and 10 is the line feed.
Default: Control characters 13 and 10.
