Описание: Living in Greece - Ermioni is a small town in the southeast of the Peloponnese in Greece. It has a harbour and a small fishing fleet. It is very popular with sailing flotillas in the summer and is frequented by some larger yachts in the high season as well. It is not so well known and is well off the international tourist trail, visited more by domestic tourists from Athens and the north of Greece.

Tanya and I lived in Ermioni for around six months when we first arrived in Greece to buy our small house in Didyma. When we arrived we drove round all the local towns and villages to find a place to base ourselves whilst the house sale was completed.

We tried many places but found nowhere as delightful as Ermioni. We knew as soon as we drove around town we would be staying in Ermioni. It was the middle of the pandemic and there were no tourists. Soon it was winter and the cold came, making things a little different. Living by the sea in winter is much different to your typical summer holiday. We still went swimming on Christmas Day :-)

Ermioni market is every Thursday morning from about 7 to 12 noon. It is a great place to buy your fruit and veg and also to meet other friends for coffee after in Marias Cafe.

Your accountant is your best friend after your lawyer, we struggled to find a good one, the greek tax system is hideously complex so you can't do a self-assessment as we can in the UK. We have just changed accountant and now use Mary at Kleopas Alliott: [email protected]
