My father is the biggest influence in my life with ALL things #outdoors , #farming, and #frontier ways . I lost him him on November 11, 2020. We spent countless hours talking about how we wished to reshape the land under our stewardship. We BOTH dreamed of having our own #pond . He and I spent more days than can be counted fishing backwoods ponds. This pond was one the many things he built. It was the #permaculture project that he was most proud of in his life. It brought him so much joy to have achieved. He reforged it from his Granny's pond .

Now that he is gone, I know why it brought him so much joy. Continuing the labors of our ancestors, brings us closer to them, and in a way, makes it feel like they are not gone.

It was one of his dreams, to return his family, to an agrarian lifestyle. He succeeded.

He confided in me, that he wanted to build something that would outlast him, and here is the beauty he built. We just need to make it last for him.

All that I do in the outdoors, and in every aspect of my life, is a monument to him. His teachings, his dreams, his goals, and his unfinished labors will live on. I will finish for you Dad, you taught us well, and just as I carry your name, I will carry, and pass on, your legacy.
