Cheap and Easy DIY Draw Through Blower Carburetor. If you need a carburetor to go on a Roots Blower, you don't need to spend a lot of money on a specialty Blower Carb. It's easy to convert a Holley 4150 or 4160 Carb to a Draw Through Blower Carb for under $20. All you need is a drill, a bit, some rigid brake line, and some J-B Weld type epoxy.
All that is need to convert a standard carburetor to a draw thru blower carb, is to reference the Power Valve to the manifold, below the blower. The Power Valve is held closed by manifold vacuum, and there is always significant vacuum directly under the carb, but above the blower. If the power valve is referenced to the manifold, below the blower, there will be vacuum present during normal driving. When the engine gets into boost, under load, the Power Valve will open up like it should.
