The name “Lauterbrunnen” literally means “many fountains”, which perfectly describes this magical place. The most famous waterfall here is Staubbach Falls, which drops almost 300 meters from a high cliff — one of the highest free-falling waterfalls in Europe 🌊

In 1779, the famous German poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe visited this valley and was inspired by the power of the waterfalls to write his poem “Spirit Song over the Waters.”

Another natural wonder here is the spectacular Trümmelbach Falls, hidden inside the mountain. These glacier waterfalls carry up to 20,000 litres of water per second, cascading through the rocks with incredible power.

Lauterbrunnen becomes a paradise for winter sports lovers. Nearby ski areas like Wengen – Kleine Scheidegg and Mürren – Schilthorn offer more than 213 km of ski slopes, winter hiking trails and amazing mountain views.

During summer the valley is a perfect starting point for exploring the Jungfrau region, hiking through alpine landscapes, and visiting famous destinations like Wengen, Mürren and Jungfraujoch – the Top of Europe.
