Описание: Removing on street parking is often a reason given to not build more bike lanes. Opponents to bike lanes think the world is going to end if just one car park is taken away, and unfortunately elected officials often succumb to this pressure. Where the Southern Bike Link in Geelong, Australia crosses Carr Street, the sight lines were really poor due to parked cars, and had resulted in a number of crashes. The City of Greater Geelong removed 3 car parks to improve the sight lines, which improved cyclists safety significantly. And you know what? The sky didn't fall in when these parks were removed.
