Released during the peak of Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! craze in the late ‘90s to early 2000s, the Demikids games are often dismissed as nothing more than bad Pokémon clones that don’t add much to the monster-collecting genre. But I’m not entirely sure if that’s true. Or even a fair assessment of the games. So, in this video, I’ll dive into Demikids: Red Book & Black Book to explore if these Shin Megami Tensei spin-offs are good Pokémon clones and if they deserve more attention than they usually get.
