Would sir pentious have successfully killed adam if his lazer went off?

Personally i don’t think so, but it likely would’ve injured adam. Adam immediately after shooting pentious says “that could’ve been ugly”. He’s either joking, or he’s serious.

There’s a chance that pentious’s lazer was enhanced with angelic steel from carmilla, so if it was then it might’ve actually killed or injured adam.

We also have to factor in that pentious lost to cherri bomb and alastor numerous times, and adam is more powerful than alastor. So there’s little chance he’d actually defeat adam.

Overall i think pentious knew it was a futile attempt, which is why he kissed cherri goodbye. It ended up working in the end though, as it motivated his friends and allowed him to get redeemed in heaven.
