In this installment of the Tactical Medicine series we are discussing the first block of the MARCH (Massive bleeding, Airway, Respirations, Circulation, Hypothermia/Head injury) algorithm. Massive uncontrolled bleeding of the extremities (arms and legs) was identified as the leading preventable cause of combat deaths and we begin to discuss some of the different tools used to stop this from happening.
