Some of the 193 sea turtle hatchlings making their way down to the sea after being rescued and then released by the hard-working Barbados Sea Turtle Project.
Hatchlings which are born during the day (which is an unsafe time due to predators and the temperature) are collected and released at sunset.
These hatchlings set a quick pace down the beach, except for one litlle guy who was pretty sleepy and quite content to rest on the sand 🙂. One unfortunate hatchling had earlier lost a back flipper to a crab but persevered and made it into the sea!
We wish them all the best as they begin their life's journey!
You can hear the excitement of the spectators, especially the children, as the turtles are released.
