Are you like me & your mind relives past conversations & experiences only to start thinking ahead to all the things that haven’t happened yet?!
When we do this, the various areas of our brain that WOULD be experiencing the imagined events or the past regrets are all lit up! Our brain doesn’t know it isn’t happening RIGHT NOW!
We can be accidentally triggering an unnecessary alarm system in our body (our fight, flight or freeze) with all the body chemistry changes that goes with that.
So how do we live in the right now? The present moment. BE present right now?
Using mindfulness in its simplest form is easy to learn (I’m going to teach you real quick in this video) to start to recalibrate the nervous system and keep our brain in the HERE and NOW! And in doing so, regulate ourselves, staying in our “rest and digest”, the happy body chemistry, more often every day. That goes a long way toward managing stress, fatigue and pain! Yay!
