In this episode of Buncombe Life, host Kathy Hughes tours the Buncombe County Courthouse with Bill Stafford, Project Manager. Bill and Kathy explain the demolition process, the old jail material, the tower crane, and the future plans for each floor. In the second part of the episode, Kathy talks with Jon Creighton, Assistant County Manager & Planning Director. They discuss the various stages of the project including, the Life Safety Tower and the new Court System Building. They also disclose the projects duration, the look of the new courtrooms, and LEED certified construction.
