Greater Anglia: London Liverpool Street - Cambridge on September 27th 2024

Описание: Journey video on the West Anglia Main Line onboard a 5 car Class 720 Aventra (720560) on the 0858 Greater Anglia Service to Cambridge North from London Liverpool Street to Cambridge North covering as far as Cambridge

During Filming there was a change of route between Hackney Downs and Cheshunt due to a level crossing issue at Enfield Lock which meant our train was diverted onto the Lea Valley Lines via Seven Sisters instead of the usual course towards Tottenham Hale causing the train to lose 10 minutes as a result.

So our train would call at Seven Sisters instead of Tottenham Hale, Cheshunt, Broxbourne, Harlow Town, Bishops Stortford, Audley End, Whittlesford Parkway and Cambridge

Departing Platform 1 from London Liverpool Street between here and Bethnal Green we run alongside the Great Eastern Main Line before diverging away passing Cambridge Heath and London Fields on the way.

At Hackney Downs instead of heading via Clapton towards our original first stop at Tottenham Hale instead we follow the course of the Lea Valley Lines

After passing through Rectory Road, Stoke Newington and Stamford Hill we arrive at our unscheduled 1st stop being Seven Sisters which is only served by Greater Anglia nowadays during diverts when the line via Tottenham Hale is Closed as it was the case that morning.

After leaving Seven Sisters we pass Bruce Grove, White Hart Lane, Silver Street and Edmonton Green before one of the Lea Valley Lines diverges Northwards towards Enfield Town

After that whilst we head Northeast we then pass Southbury, Turkey Street and Theobalds Grove before rejoining back on course on the West Anglia Main Line just before arriving into Cheshunt.

After calling at Broxbourne the line towards Hertford East diverge towards Ware, St Margarets whilst we continue onwards passing the staggered layout platforms of Roydon.

After Harlow Town we pass both Harlow Mill and Sawbridgeworth however just before stopping at Bishops Stortford our train would lose another 8 minutes due to the train in front terminating because of the disruption caused that morning which by the time our train arrived and departed it was 18 minutes late.

After Bishops Stortford then pass Stansted Mountfitchet before the triangle junction where at Stansted South Junction where the Stansted Express services diverge towards Stansted Airport however at Stansted North Junction we are joined by CrossCountry services to and from Birmingham New Street via Leicester and Peterborough and Greater Anglia Norwich services via Ely and Thetford

However on the morning those services were also experiencing disruption with CrossCountry running reduced services due to lack of train drivers and Greater Anglia Norwich services were terminating at Wymondham due to a fallen tree on the railway to the North between there and Norwich.

After passing through Elsenham and Newport (Essex) the next station stop is at Audley End

After passing Great Chesterford our last intimidate stop on our journey is at Whittlesford Parkway

After passing Shelford we join up with Great Northern and Thameslink services at Shepreth Branch Jn before passing through the sight of the new Cambridge South station which is due to open at some point during 2025.

Then we finish the journey via Platform 4 at Cambridge arriving 20 minutes late however the train would carry on afterwards to the next and final stop of its journey at Cambridge North finishing 12 minutes behind schedule
