The Nassau grouper, an endemic species, is not very shy and is present on every dive, as are many other fish.
The lionfish, here too, has become a danger to juveniles of other species. Hunts are regularly organized to reduce its population.
Two predators occupy the top of the food chain: large barracudas and sharks.
Sharks play a role in regulating the populations of other species by eliminating the weakest.
