We flew into Key West for a day getaway to one of the most unique destinations in the U.S.
Landing at KEYW is an experience in itself. Surrounded by water and packed with traffic, it’s a bucket list airport for many pilots. Once you shut down and step off the ramp, you’re immediately in island mode.
From there, we explored everything that makes Key West what it is. Duval Street, colorful local shops, live music drifting through open doors, the famous free-roaming chickens, and of course, authentic Key lime pie.
Some trips are about the flying. Others are about where the runway takes you. This one was about both.
