The second video of the Reflection of Africa series features Ahmad Hall singing Georgia on My Mind behind a painting of Ray Charles by Bill Rembert. Mr. Rembert introduces us to several of his collections: Music, Black Life Matters, and his Twenty-Three series. Please enjoy.
William Rembert, Sr., U.S. Army retired, is a multi-talented artist, poet, public school art teacher at Wheeler High, and writer. He is active in the Booth Artists' Guild, is prolific in art production, appreciates all cultures and is immersed in intellectual pursuits. His reading list exceeds 400 books including the Bible. Rembert has numerous certifications and several degrees with master’s level training in Art and Behavioral Disorders. A long list of awards include honorific medals and teacher of the year. He lists fourteen exhibitions and presentations including at The Art Place, Marietta, GA. and a one man show at Stillman College, Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 2013.
Rembert's art falls under eight categories, all of which tell a story based on observations of society, cultural insights and his perception of the reality of the human condition. He is skilled in the use of media and representation.
