In 2023, the Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL) conducted a Justice Need Assessment (JNS) in Iraq and found out that only 15% of respondents could resolve their legal issues. In 2024, HiiL introduced the Iraq Justice Innovation Initiative (IJII) Programme to empower CSOs to bring a more people-centered justice in Housing, land and property (HLP). This film recounts the HiiL-supported project and profiles 4 Iraqi local initiatives whose innovations and services are addressing the HLP legal problems facing Iraqis, especially women in Sinjar.
