Winter Open 2026

Описание: First adult amateur competition! It was a super small event, which made it damn near perfect for our first steps onto a competition floor together. I'm so incredibly proud of the dancer John has become over the past year. And I'm just as proud of both of us for how well we've built this partnership. I wasn't sure how well it would go- being friends with someone doesn't always mean you'll work well together in such close proximity. I was also worried that my competitive streak might sour our friendship somehow. But we communicate super well, and have only grown closer through this whole process. I see the time and effort he pours into learning and improving, and it makes me want to push harder to grow alongside him.

I'm sure in another year we'll both look back at this video and cringe. We'll see every missed step or incomplete line and shake our heads. But right now I couldn't be happier with our performance. I see a lead who is calm and confident in himself, and who remains collected even when floorcraft becomes tricky (rough start to that waltz, amirite?). I see a follow who trusts in her connection and lets herself focus on the flow of the music. And I can't wait to do it all again.
