The Center for Curriculum Redesign presented '21st Century Mathematics: What Should Students Learn in the 21st Century?' a conference on the future of mathematics in education. Held in Stockholm, the event brought together mathematicians, curriculum specialists and educators from around the world to discuss changes to math curricula needed to help prepare students for the challenges of a world increasing in complexity. Jennifer Chidsey, chief operating officer of Ross Institute, presented on the systems initiative at Ross and discussed how systems thinking is a requirement for addressing the current and future problems of the 21st century.
