Converting SCA-1E Sprung Shocks To Droop

Описание: For those end users that like to Rock Crawl more than they Trail Run, converting the stock shocks on the SCA-1E Kit or a RTR to Droop can offer some great benefits in performance. And it's a quick and inexpensive mod to perform (although you may need to experiment with different internal springs, oil viscosity and top mount points on the shock towers).

It won't be for everyone, but the positives include: -
A lower Centre of Gravity for the whole rig.
Tyres don't hit the arches, so you can run slammed and look more realistic.
Improves a rigs Climbing and Crawling Ability.
Improved a rigs Side Hilling capabilities.

The main negative is it doesn't handle normal off road terrain or soak up the bumps as a sprung rig would when just bashing. But for rock crawling...it's a great setup option!

You will need: 4x internal springs big enough to fit over shock shaft and extend and compress the shocks to your desired rate. (Pen springs are a cheap and often very effective starting point). MSA-1E Shock springs work really well too...Then its just about experimentation with the setup, oil viscosity and weight-bias of the chassis itself.

NOTE: The rig at the end of the video is a Coyote 2.1 kit, running full droop shocks, 1 row of stick on weight in each front wheel and it managed a 62 degree incline. None of my sprung rigs can get anywhere near that!
