Описание: The Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center, also known as the Crocodile Farm and Nature Park, is a popular tourist attraction in Puerto Princesa. The Crocodile Farm is operated and managed by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

Founded initially as Crocodile Farm Institute in 1987 in cooperation with Japan International Cooperative Agency or JICA, its primary objective was to conserve two endangered crocodile species: Crocodilus porosus (freshwater crocs) and Crocodilus mindorensis (saltwater crocs.) Another goal of the institute was to introduce crocodile farming technology to equip our Filipino farmers with an alternative means of livelihood.

However, things didn’t pan out well for the institute. But instead of shutting down its operations, it diverted its focus and direction. Hence, the Crocodile Farm and Nature Park were born.



How to get here:
Located on National Road, Barangay Irawan, 9-kilometers south of Puerto Princesa, the Crocodile Farm and Nature Park is about thirty to forty-minutes drive from the city proper.

Ride a multicab from the town of Puerto Princesa City to Irawan. Tell the driver to let you know if you're already at the Crocodile Farm. Fare is depending on where you come from in the proper area. Guided tours that include Crocodile Farm as one of its attractions are also highly recommended.



Entrance fee:
There is a minimal fee to enter the park, which is 70 pesos. Tourists are strongly advised to follow the farm rules at all times to ensure safety.

The best month to visit:
It is an all-year-round destination. Crocodile Farm has scheduled guided tours that start in the morning. Before entering the park for the guided tour, guests can roam around and take photos in the waiting area.
