Oxford University strive to make their buildings as sustainable as possible. Have a look at this video for an insight into how the Blavatnik building works.
The Blavatnik School of Government is a visually striking contemporary building situated in a prominent corner of the historic Radcliffe Observatory Quarter site in central Oxford. There are 6 storeys above ground designed for academic and teaching uses, arranged around an interconnecting open forum space, complete with glazed roof.
The University of Oxford has a long-standing commitment to building sustainably and has targeted BREEAM Excellent for all major projects since 2009. To this end the Blavatnik School of Government features a rainwater harvesting system, mixed mode ventilation, ground source heat pumps, sedum roofs and PV panels.
