Christopher Hoftun, a University of Stavanger student, joins The Haughton-Mars Project (HMP) on Devon Island, Northern Canada. Conditions here are the closest we get to Mars on earth.
The Haughton-Mars Project is managed and operated by the Mars Institute with support from the SETI Institute & NASA.
It is an international interdisciplinary field research project centered on the scientific study of the Haughton impact structure and surrounding terrain.
Christopher Hoftun is a student of Petroleum Engineering and a member of the Space & Energy programme.
He is currently an international student intern at the Mars Institute working on Deep Drilling on Mars.
