Others say the song serves as both a prayer for prosperity in new lands and a humorous exchange for group dances, with its lively melody and chants like 'Ningurumatu-matuyo.'

Historically, Miyako folk songs like this were sung a cappella until the 1950s, later incorporating Sanshin accompaniment, and may share ties with other Okinawan folk songs, highlighting cultural connections within the region.

If a boy is born, on a strong horse he’ll ride, to Karima Village someday."
