Specifics: This is the military version of the Leitz Mardix/it 10x50 produced from 1932 to 1962. Since 1941 all German service binoculars had a 3 letter manufacturer code on them, this binocular should be dated 1941 or later.
German army binoculars in the 10x50 version were only made by 3 manufacturers: Zeiss (code blc), Leitz (code beh) and Busch (code cxn).
The binocular seen in this video has been restored. I added an eyepiece protection cap, but I'm not sure whether it dates back to WW2 or later. I also attached the button tab afterwards. Again, this is probably not an original WW2 version. This binocular is therefore not quite a "real" original piece. But I'm still very happy with it though, as I'm more of a "reenactor collector" than a "museum collector" anyway.
Unfortunately, this video is a bit shorter because I had to use my smartphone again - the binocular shots would have had a very small field of view if I had used my normal camera (even with the eyecups removed). The smartphone camera is better for the landscape shots and the detailed views, but when filming through the binoculars, the shots become more shaky, which again meant that a lot of the material was of poor quality and couldn´t be used.
In addition, the smartphone camera somehow "hides" the reticle, as can be seen in the pictures. At least I was able to make another video on this tour (and with the normal camera), which will be uploaded the next weekend (see the Community Section).
