The Journey of a Lifetime
At 80 years old, retired teacher Betty Kellenberger decided to do the "impossible." While most are slowing down, Betty set her sights on the 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail, stretching from Georgia to Maine.
Her path was anything but easy. Between battling Lyme disease, surviving serious falls, and even trekking through a hurricane, Betty’s story is a masterclass in grit and perseverance. On September 12, 2025, she became the oldest woman to complete a thru-hike of the AT.
But Betty isn’t the only one rewriting the record books. From Ironman championships to cross-country treks, a new generation of "super-agers" is proving that spirit and grit never fade.
