The Pasha de Cartier is a legend in the annals of the luxury watch industry. Originally designed in the early twentieth century for the Pasha of Marrakesh, the canteen-crowned "Pasha," as it came to be known, was the original "sports watch." Updated by the late, great Gerald Genta during the mid-80s, the Pasha enters the twenty-first century as a universally-admired icon.
thewatchbox.com is proud to offer this Pasha de Cartier Chronograph XL with 18-karat white gold and inset diamonds. The entire case, bracelet, and deployant clasp are crafted from "or blanc," the most subtle of precious metals; its mass on the wrist is divine to experience and the epitome of luxury. Our Pasha XL is 42mm in diameter and wears well on wrists of all sizes.
The brilliant-cut diamonds in the bezel present a dazzling spectacle in direct light but cut a reasonably discreet profile due to their skillful integration between a silvered dial and white gold case. Few diamond-inset watches can pull double duty in casual clothing, but this Cartier Pasha Chronograph is among the fortunate few.
Inside the case, a Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 750 chronograph provides mechanical substance commensurate to the quality of the Cartier case. JLC is regarded as the "watchmaker's watchmaker," and their movements have appeared in cases bearing the hallmarks of Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, and Audemars Piguet. JLC's engineering muscle ensures that this Cartier is a true "Pasha" among luxury watches. Video and content by Tim Mosso.
