The Social Development Department says 50 non-profit organisations in
South Africa are being investigated for alleged terror funding and
money laundering.
It follows a Financial Action Task Force recommendation which
classified South Africa as a medium-risk country.
SA is trying to claw its way out of greylisting by October this year.
Social Development acting Deputy Director-General Peter Netshipale
says SA has to supervise its NPOs.
