UN Command verifies initial landmine clearance at JSA

United Nations Command said it has verified the work done so far to clear landmines from the Joint Security Area in Panmunjeom.
UN Command said Friday that the verification paves the way for the next steps in implementing the military agreement signed at last month's inter-Korean summit in Pyeongyang.
That agreement includes a range of measures to reduce border tensions, including mine clearance, the designation of no-fly zones near the border, the removal of some guard posts and a reduction of weapons in the DMZ.
UN Command stressed it will continue to closely work with both Koreas to synchronize the agreement's implementation of the agreement.
