What is a Level 2 in Health and Social Care?

Persona's Workforce Development Officer talks us through the Level 2 in Health and Social Care and why is it important for staff at Persona.

Hi everyone it’s Sue Partington from the Workforce team. So part of my role is to make sure that staff are enrolled to complete their Level 2 in Health and Social Care.

This is a really, really important qualification which supports the role that they do at Persona and it also gives them that foundation to move forward with their career.

There is various other levels in Health and Social Care which can be done but they are very role specific. So if you are in a support worker role the natural pathway would be to do a Level 2 in Health and Social Care, if you’re doing a Level 3 it would be more for lead support worker role, but it’s really, really valuable.

Staff that I have signed up for the qualification at first have been quite nervous about it.
How are they going to manage? They’re working, they’ve got family. So yeah, there there is that nervousness from them but with the right support from myself, from their managers, from our training providers, local colleges, they have achieved it.

And believe me, it’s so worthwhile when that certificate comes through and they see it.
Yeah. Makes my job worthwhile.
