In this video, I talk about a common habit in our society related to food and shame.
My elder brother is a very shy person. He feels hesitation eating food in front of people, especially at weddings or family functions.
Recently, we attended my cousin’s daughter’s birthday dinner. Food was arranged properly for guests, yet my brother did not eat, even though he was hungry.
Personally, I never feel shame eating food at any event.
If I am hungry, I eat with confidence — because the host arranges food for guests with respect and love.
In Pakistan, many people — including youth and elders — hide their hunger. Some don’t eat due to:
Shyness
Social pressure
Over-respect (Marwat)
Lack of confidence
This behavior makes no sense.
👉 Eating food is not a sin or shame
👉 Wasting food is wrong
👉 Eat only what you need, but eat without fear
Respect food, respect the host, and respect your body.
Hiding hunger is not politeness — it’s a confidence issue created by society.
This message is for our family system, youth, and society.
